Zeus botnet accidentally hit on Amazon EC2

Security experts have discovered on the EC2 servers the command center of the Zeus botnet. It was discovered when numerous Zeus bots began to actively connect to the Amazon cloud.



This is the first time that a botnet has managed to penetrate the servers of a popular hosting. As the investigation showed, Zeus hit the cloud through one of the sites hosted there. Hackers seized the password to the administrative panel of this site. Apparently, they did not set the initial goal to infiltrate on EC2, it just happened so badly. In theory, this kind of requests should be easily filtered by the security system, so the command center was very quickly covered.
