Cuegenerator

image I love listening to radio broadcasts. But more often they go to listen to the recordings. There are many sites for collecting records of radio sets, which gives unlimited possibilities to select and search for the necessary radio shows. And I also like to see the tracklist, but not just to see, but to be able to navigate through it conveniently (that is, not to calculate the time of the n-th track in order to know the transition time). In most cases, this task is successfully handled by the cue file. With it, the file can be cut into pieces, and you can use the player interface, for example, foobar2000. By the way, I like the last option more because physically the file maintains its integrity. Also, for unification, set files are flagged by the group that made the recording (TALiON, 1KING, etc.), or broadcast Internet radio — which is convenient when searching for cue files for them.

And here comes the problem. There are many radio shows, but not everyone can find not only a cue file, but a tracklist in general. If the compilation of the tracklist is often nontrivial, then creating a cue file is a simple task.

It is enough to have a tracklist and notepad (notepad). For those who are not familiar with the syntax of cue files here . As you can see, the syntax represents markup indicating who plays what and when. Now you (in any case, those who have not done it before) have tried to make their first cue-file and were convinced that everything is really simple. But if you want to make cue files regularly, for example, for a weekly radio show, then soon you will think about creating a template that you will receive your next cue with a minimum of copying and pasting of new lines.

For these purposes, I bring to your attention a light and simple utility CUEgenerator , which takes all the routine work on itself (after all, computers were made just for this). The interface is simple as a rake. I will mention two functions:

1. Tracklist. At the moment, the utility correctly parses the tracklist with track numbering, separating the artist from the name of the song, and also finds time, if such has been specified.

2. Regions List. Using Sony's Sound Forge program, or any other program that allows you to save (copy to the buffer) a list of temporary separation of tracks, you can paste it into this input field and get a complete file at the output;

Just try it. I accept your suggestions and criticisms here as well as at admin@cuegenerator.net

PS At the moment, CUEgenerator support:

- intrance.in - here you can find links to many radio shows in the style of trance;

- cuenation.com - the largest site in the English-language Internet, dedicated to cue files for a radio show in the style of trance.

PPS The project is non-profit.
