PostgreSQL and Vista
On the home laptop is Vista. And I would not say that she did not suit me, I like her. Now it would be possible and put the Seven, but Vista is licensed and I do not want to demolish it. But very often I am confronted with the problem of installing any kind of program so far.
And now I encountered an error when installing the latest version of PostgreSQL - “database cluster initialization failed”.
I climbed on English-speaking forums, because I didn’t find anything good in Russian-speaking. Apparently, not so many perverts who want to put Postgre on Vista))).
In general, I installed it this way - during the installation process, a postgres user is created. And as soon as it is created (the installation is still under way), you must have time before the end of the installation to give this user full access to the folder where postgree is being placed. ))) I was able to deliver only in this way.
Perhaps there are other ways, but I don’t know about it.
