EZTV collected weekly logs from three large torrent trackers (OpenBitTorrent, PublicBitTorrent and Denis Stalker) and published the most comprehensive
statistics on torrent clients ever published. The summary table summarizes the data, from a total of 357 million unique peers.
It turns out that the most popular torrent client in the world is
Xunlei (“Thunder” in Chinese), and not at all μTorrent, as previously thought. Just in the previous statistics underestimated the number of Chinese.
The recently published
map of the world from The Pirate Bay shows that every third user of the torrent tracker was from China. For comparison, in the second place in the list of countries is the United States with a modest 8%. That is, in China, torrents are popular as anywhere else.

The Chinese prefer to use their own Chinese torrent client, although in other countries μTorrent still remains the leader. However, the μTorrent gap from Vuze (Azereus) is not as big as previously thought.
