IT professionals work less

Interesting results were obtained from a study conducted by the US Census Bureau commissioned by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Among all specialists polled in 2006 in nine widely spread areas, only education workers and library staff spend less time on the workplace than IT specialists and mathematics-statistics who joined them (the latter make up less than 5% of the total group) . Employees employed full-time during the five-day work week were taken into account.

Slightly more IT people work utilities, social workers and clean humanities. And the very workaholics are seen as managers of all links, spending at work for 6 hours a week overtime. Data for all 8 industries are presented in the table below.
