Caution - 2.0

In no case do not want to somehow offend the adherents of the development of web technologies (and the web environment as a whole) using any terminology, but sometimes there is a feeling that there is no meaning behind the words. I mean “write here_ any word 2.0”.

It is clear that a popular phenomenon is well promoting everything related to itself, and its use has a positive effect on the primary interest in the “product”. No one can even really explain what this “2.0” is, but every second one wants to use it.

Similar phenomena can be observed, for example, in marketing. “New theories” appear from time to time, appearing as something new and revolutionary, which turn out to be a new version of the classic Kotler theories. Just someone decided to make money by selling books, and the catchy title is an easy way to get sales.

It would be desirable that behind loud words like “Web 2.0” the real meaning of what is happening is not lost, it is dangerous. There is no 2.0, there is just a new set of use combinations for a long time not new technologies. Success is not defined by any 2.0, success is determined by people and ideas. I rather believe in evolution without "versions" than in a "revolution" with which "revolutionary" things sell better.
