Pointless "Operating System"
Having read the article on Habrahabr with the loud title “Now everyone can try Chrome OS from a flash drive!”, I decided to try myself as a Chrome OS user.
Having done all that I described in the instructions, with some installation problems (there was trouble with Wi-Fi), I installed Chrome OS, the system greets us with a blue screen:

Enter the login-password (from your account in Google), and we run into the "operating system". But in my case, there are problems, I enter - nothing happens, the inscription appears below: Network not connected and offline login fail. Like, I do not see your wi-fay. Then I entered the following - login: chronos, password: password. And oh God, we are in the “system” (when I entered, I easily caught the Wi-Fi and connected to it):
This is a page with “gadgets”, here: various mail, calendar, rss-acceptor, google documents, YouTube, picas, calculator, notebook, twitter, facebook, and more incomprehensible icons.
However, it is difficult to call it “gadgets”, since in fact these are only links to pages, clicking “Twitter” will take you to Twitter, but not through the program, but through the web interface, the same with the rest:
The whole "OS" is an absolutely normal Chrome browser, one to one. Nothing can be done here except surfing the Internet:
Inserting, for example, a USB flash drive into a laptop, a window appears (from the bottom, on the right) with an offer to view photos or documents from it. All this, of course, through the services of Google.
So my opinion: the phrase "operating system" for this miracle is clearly not suitable. The value of Chrome OS is greatly inflated, because in fact it is the usual Chrome browser that can load funny from a flash drive (screw).
I understand that Google sees the future as follows: the user has a laptop (computer) that has an installed “Operating system”, and in fact, a “client” to work on the Internet. That is, all operations take place not on your system and your computer, but there, in the offices of Google. We decided to convert the video you need - go to a special Google service on the Internet, convert (not on your computer, but there) and save it in your “albums / galleries”. Wanted to listen to your favorite music - please, in some service a la lastlastm FM, and so on. Those. the computer becomes the client, the door to the Internet, the door to your files and dreams.
In my opinion, this is complete nonsense ... "The operating system" is zilch, not the operating system.
. This is a regular browser, which in Windows is poured onto a USB flash drive, configured, and loaded funny on your computer after rebooting. There is you, and there is the Internet. No personal. Your his. It's horrible. I really did not like it. Chrome OS is the worst I've seen today.
