But this map site has a noticeable flaw: instead of updating only the position of the markers (via AJAX, for example), the author of this site, as far as I can see, programmed stupidly to update the entire map. With each update, the mosaic map (and not just the vehicle markers) is downloaded from the Google geodatabase again (again, as far as I can see), so that about a megabyte is otzhiraetsya. I saw with my own eyes that not just the markers move: it is the whole map that suddenly disappears, comes to its initial form (gray rectangle) and starts to swing again.

Therefore, for owners of very limited and (or) paid traffic on the mobile Internet (say, GPRS from any MTS without wholesale prices and discounts) such waste will not be acceptable, so I am sure.

Fortunately, this shortcoming is not an insurmountable one.

In addition: attention, the card was already removed from that site: “The service is temporarily closed, ” the site owner writes. (Apparently, habraeffekt scared, or something in the same spirit.)

More additions: the comments suggest that this system was mentioned in the NGS.NOVOSTI news on November 23 (in the article “ Satellite minibus ”). The appearance of the transport map in the NGS article is completely analogous to that which I also observed, so I put here screenshots from there.
