Some time I worked for a company that wrote software for the IPhone. We had all the poppies on our own. During this time, I got used to the Mac Dock panel. I wanted to put myself the same, only on Linux. me makovskuyu panel.
All actions described below are made for Ubuntu (Debian), but they will safely work under other distros.
We will need to install such packages:
cairo-dock
cairo-dock-data
cairo-dock-core
cairo-dock-plug-ins
cairo-dock-plug-ins-data
Ubuntu (Debian) is done like this
sudo aptitude install cairo-dock
sudo aptitude install cairo-dock-core
now run the panel, for this in the terminal
cairo-dock &If you see a black rectangle, do not be discouraged, in order to remove it just turn on compiz.
To customize the panel, click on it with the right mouse button, Cairo-Dock -> Settings
the program has very good built-in help, I have found the answers to all my questions there.
here are some of them:
question:
the panel is not visible due to the standard gnome panel, how to make it visible?
decision:
launch Cairo-Dock with --keep-above
question:
How to make the panel does not overlap the windows?
decision:
go to settings then Behavior -> Extras. Opportunities and cocked the flag in the paragraph to reserve space for the panel.
This is how it all looked at the end.

That's all.
PS I ask strictly not to judge the first post on Habré.
