Will Chrome OS solve the print driver problem?

Although manufacturers of netbooks are already trying on Chrome OS, but still not everything works in the operating system. Experts call the problem with print drivers one of the most difficult tasks. As you know, printer manufacturers (unlike, for example, from digital camera manufacturers) have not yet developed uniform standards. Each driver there is unique and must go strictly from the manufacturer.

It would seem that the great minds of Google are unlikely to be able to come up with some sort of normal solution. But they, apparently, came up with something. Leaked information that Google is already discussing with manufacturers of printers a kind of “universal solution” (“wonderful printing solution”) for printing from Chrome OS. What could it be? Is there any way to print without drivers?

As for other exotic devices, for example, Wacom tablets, their support in Chrome OS should not be expected in the near future, said Linus Upson, lead programmer of Chrome browser and Chrome OS system.
