VIA has introduced a new form factor
Mobile-ITX for motherboards of record small size: only 6 x 6 cm.

The board has a C7M processor on 1 GHz, a VX820 chipset, and also 512 MB DDRII 667 / 533MHz SDRAM in the form of four chips (two on top and two on the bottom).

The power consumption of the system does not exceed 12 W, so the board costs passive cooling and 5-volt power.
With an area of 3,600 mm
2 , Mobile-ITX is 5% less than the previous miniaturization record holder CoreExpress.

Through the optional I / O card, all necessary standards are supported: USB, CRT, TTL LCD, PCIe, SPI, LPC, COM, SDIO, IDE, PS / 2, SMB, GPIO, Audio, DVI, LVDS.

The I / O board can be made in different sizes with different interfaces, to the taste of the OEM-builder, depending on the required functionality.
The first commercial samples of Mobile-ITX motherboards will appear in early 2010.
