DARPA Network Challenge announced a competition to determine the exact coordinates of objects using social networks with a prize fund of $ 40,000. The contest will last until December 14, that is, a week.
On Saturday at 19:00 MSK it is planned to launch 10 red balloons-weather probes (2.5 m in diameter) throughout the USA and in about 12 hours all the balloons will be lowered back.
Since no one can determine the coordinates of all 10 balls throughout the United States,
then participants are encouraged to take advantage of social networking opportunities.

The prize of $ 40,000 will receive the first to determine the latitude and longitude of all 10 balls, and if
no one has time before December 14, then the prize will be given to the one who sent the exact coordinates
at least 5 balls.
The main goal is to understand how the Internet and social networks can help people organize
cooperation with each other to solve real problems and challenges.
