A few weeks ago, the Chinese company SmartDevices began selling a new line of MIDs - SmartQ V, which consists of SmartQ V5 and V7. The devices differ in screen size (4.3 "vs. 7") and battery capacity. The V series is based on the Telechips TCC8900 chipset, which can play video up to 1080p.
Device Screen: 7 ", 800x480 pixels, resistive
Connectivity: Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b / g, can connect via 3G USB modem, USB Host / OTG
Chipset Telechips TCC8900 with TCC8901 processor operating at a frequency of 600 megahertz, 256MB DDRII, 2GB of non-volatile memory
Charger with non-European plug (what is it called?), Manual and warranty card in Chinese, HDMI cable and the device itself. An interesting piece of paper was also discovered, can someone tell me what it is? On the side of the MID are 3.5mm, HDMI, USB, and a charging port. I note that USB can work in OTG and HOST modes, i.e. You can print to a printer without drivers and insert flash drives.
MID is running under three systems at once: Ubuntu, Android and Windows CE 6. Windows CE is in Chinese, but you can install the cab-angler, and Android does not start, we'll wait for the firmware update, which should be released this weekend. In the settings of the bootloader, there is a choice of HD video mode, the higher the resolution, the less available RAM to the user
The video goes smoothly only in the vlc patched by the developers, but when you put subtitles it all terribly slows down and the picture crumbles, so it’s likely that the hd anime won't work. I installed smplayer (the patched mplayer already exists in the firmware), everything is in order with subtitles, but the acceleration works in a strange way, I don’t see 1080p for sure. Under Windows CE, the player from telechips, complete minimalism, almost no settings and no support for subtitles, I think you shouldn’t say how much tcpmp slows down.
I tried to connect to the TV via HDMI, the interface appears in the upper left corner 800x480, the rest of the screen is black, it plays for 3-4 seconds when playing video, then switches to the screen. Interface
I will add a review when the new firmware is released.
