November 29 was officially registered Pirate Party of Australia. Now, in order to participate in the federal elections, they need to recruit 500 members who have paid their entrance fees.
The party commented on this by saying: “This is a small, but very important step on the way to enable Australians to vote for pirates and start the battle for more honest copyright, transparency of state bodies, as well as protection of civil rights.
