Artificially grown bishteks

Scientists from the University of Eindhoven (the Netherlands) have grown a piece of meat in the laboratory. So far this is the so-called “exhausted muscle tissue,” and it seems that no one dared to try it, but hope in the coming years to get edible vegetable meat to eat.

To obtain an unbeaten steak, the researchers used cells isolated from the living tissue of a live pig, which then multiplied in a nutrient medium and, roughly speaking, turned into an ugly, but promising piece of meat. Now the minimum task is to “pump up” the exhausted fabric, giving it volume. Scientists also see the importance of giving live taste to artificial meat.

Of course, this news caused a considerable response in the circles of people concerned. Vegetarians, ecologists, opponents of genetically modified products and - and this is the main opponent of GM - Prince Charles. Some people, of course, will not wait for artificial pork to finally launch the sharp teeth in the fillet, without swallowing tears in their thoughts about the fate of innocently killed animals. Others simply became more worried about the former, how can we or the starving children in Africa eat artificial food, will it not harm physical health and, more importantly, spiritual food?

On my own behalf, I would like to wish good luck to Charles with his hatred with genetic modifications, and to vegetarians too. But I will hope for the success of the Dutch. If they are available to all the fun they have there will provide more and tasty and cheap food (and what if you put the case, then growing steaks will be differently cheaper than making them from pigs and cows), then it is only for the benefit.
