ICQ of the ideal world

My way of communicating with friends on ICQ sometimes resembles a conversation from a joke about humorists who told each other instead of stories their serial numbers. Only we use links instead of numbers. Sometimes there are dozens of links in a row: a picture in response to a post, a video in response to a picture, again posts, pictures, videos, music, etc. - all this eventually turns into a connected dialogue, but sometimes it is difficult to conduct it.

The main trouble is the need to constantly move from the messenger window to the browser, wait for the download files and come back. Well, to find what was where, scrolling through the history, is also difficult.

In general, I’ll finally tell you what I came up with, the essence is this: an ICQ type messenger that allows you to send not only text, but also pictures and even video to the message window. Moreover, to send a multimedia user does not need to make any additional gestures, simply send the link, as usual - the messenger itself recognizes the file format and presents it to the addressee in the appropriate form - like a picture, video, audio player or page preview, if the link to the site is sent.

And of course such an instant messenger should have a download function - did you like the music? I clicked on the icon, and it downloaded - via the default browser or any other downloader.

And if you add another opportunity to connect to the dialogue an arbitrary number of interlocutors from the contact list, turning the messenger into a desktop analogue of the chat, then such a messenger could be a real competitor to all existing browsers - since most of them are more than what I have listed and are not required. The advantage of this method of transmitting information is that you can send the interlocutor multimedia and multimedia only, eliminating the need to perceive a lot of visual noise, advertising and other things that usually surrounds the object of our interest on sites. Why do we need all this if we just came to see one photo? I want this game jwa year.

Things are easy: it remains only to understand why no one has yet realized such a cool thing? Really modern technologies do not allow to implement such a simple desktop application? After all, in fact, it will be just a smaller and truncated browser - easy, minimalistic, convenient. People who understand the technology of creating desktop applications, tell me - when will this happiness come?
