Skype switches to SIP?

In November, an important event in the communications world happened: Jonathan Rosenberg moved from Cisco to Skype to become Chief Technology Strategist. Jonathan is a co-author of the SIP protocol , auto and co-author of some other telecommunication protocols, such as STUN and ICE . Jonathan was the main driving force in Cisco to promote SIP in the corporate and carrier sector. Will Cisco change its strategy by adapting another protocol, such as H.325, which is actively promoted by Paul Jones? And what's more interesting: will Skype change its existing closed protocol to an open SIP and the consequences of this event?
