Two weeks ago, the head of News Corp. Rupert Murdoch told Sky News Australia that he plans to block the content of his holding’s news sites for indexing with popular search engines, including Google and Bing. Thus, Murdoch is struggling with free access to its web resources.
The Financial Times cites the words of a certain online publisher who said that “paying for leaving Google will make content“ golden ”if you have to pay for exclusive indexing. Murdoch intends to stop the free distribution of information posted on the sites of his media holding company through search engines, because the latter thus earn from advertising, while the Murdoch empire does not earn anything on content.
In theory, a deal between Microsoft and news websites could increase interest in Bing.
