“Chinese” multiplication method

Accidentally stumbled on the network on this video:

I was very surprised, and then sat down and figured out. Everything is simple and similar to the multiplication column. First we draw intersecting groups of lines for both numbers. For each digit, one group of lines is drawn. The number of lines coincides with the number in this bit (if there is zero in the bit, you can draw a dotted line so as not to lose the bit). And then on the diagonals we count the number of intersections and collect the result. The method in comparison with multiplication in stobik turns out more evident, in my opinion.

True, it is not very convenient for them to multiply long numbers and numbers with many nines in their ranks, as noted in comments - too many lines. :)
