Apple Announces Second Fiscal 2007 Results
For the second fiscal quarter, Apple sold 1.52 million Mac computers. Revenue from the sale of their laptops and desktops increased by 44% in the first three months compared with 2006. An interesting trend is the huge popularity of laptops - MacBook and MacBook Pro are buying much better than Mac Pro, iMac or Mac Mini. While sales of desktops increased by only 2% per year, notebook sales increased by 79% in one quarter (compared to 2006).
Over the past quarter, Apple sold 626 thousand desktops and 891 thousand laptops. For comparison, in the same quarter of 2006, 614 thousand desktop PCs and 498 thousand mobiles were sold. Thus, sales of Apple computers increased by 36% - this figure is three times higher than the industry average.
Revenues from popular iPod players, on the contrary, are decreasing every year. Despite the fact that the average annual growth in sales of players is 24%, revenue fell by 1%.
By the way, after the publication of the results of the last fiscal quarter, the cost of one share of Apple for the first time exceeded $ 100.
