In continuation of the topic, the
new VKontakte contest is a brazen deception .
As many have noticed, recently one of the largest soc. CIS networks - VKontakte - has entered the
international arena .
The new owners of vk.com decided to promote this event by launching a spam competition: who will most of all invite friends who will not only register with the CC, but also attach their account to the mobile phone number. With one limitation: invited from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus are not considered - the competition is aimed at foreign audiences.
')
So, let's see the results a few hours before the end of the competition:

A simple calculation: the top 30 registered about 30,000. We give a discount on the unfinished registrations, invitations removed from the competition, and also that which was not included in the top 30 - a total of 35,000-40000 reg. Accordingly, for the entire time of the contest PR social. network saw about hundreds of millions of users.
Was it appropriate?
(at mail.ru prices)
5
Sony Vaio Z = 5 * 77890 = 389450 laptops
10
Sony Ericsson Satio smartphones = 10 * 22500 = 225000
15
Sony Ericsson Aino smartphones = 15 * 16990 = 254850
Total: 869300. Taking into account discounts - 550000-600000.
Result: public relations in a global audience for 100 million people for half a million rubles. IMHO, very good.
What did not like:
1. Technical support does not respond to mail (well, this is probably natural for such a project)
2. Technical support removes unwanted questions from the forum
3. The conditions of the competition were not completely met: several participants in the registration were screwed up by a bot and this was clearly visible (just the question about this was removed)
Ps Speaking of prizes. There were many rumors that this was a divorce and no one would get anything.
We decided to check it out. At the end of the competition, our place was in the first 10k.
Now in the profile hangs the following message:

We wait! When they send - accomplish your goal.
Pps first post. Starting me :)
Update: Finally, there was enough karma to transfer to Social Networks.
