Channel9 laid out several internal interviews with Microsoft developers from the team working on Internet Explorer 9. Among the topics discussed are the new JavaScript engine, the D2D renderer (with hardware acceleration), CSS and standards.
From myself: for some reason, I think that this time, IE will become a browser that “supports standards” (DOM3, SVG, CSS3, HTML5 and friends), if only these standards themselves really become standards (at the present time almost everything is called “standard modern technologies "are in the process of working copies). 10 years ago, Microsoft was already burned by implementing several unapproved specifications (SMIL, XSL-T, DOM, SMIL, VML, etc.), although at that time nobody needed it anyway.
