How we drew the logo of the Kanobu Game Universe

If the project has a bright and memorable name, then drawing a logo for it is a pleasure. We are very lucky! We were approached by the developers of the Internet resource Kanobu and asked us to come up with the same bright logo.

The name "Kanobu" comes from the popular children's game "Stone, Scissors, Paper", known in many countries around the world. It kind of tells us that the project is dedicated to all sorts of games, as well as everything connected with them.

We decided to start working on the logo with sketches. The first group illustrates the cyclical nature of the game, which makes the symbol dynamic.



The first sketch of the second group shows us the equal possibility of choosing one of the three entities. And the second and third hint at the fairy-tale characters: the thug, elf, dragon.

We also thought a little about the coats of arms and fashionable glass spheres. But quickly thought better of it and recognized this branch as a dead end.



After discussing the outline with the client, we selected the priority directions for the development of the mark and drew new sketches.



A circular sign with human hands turned out to be the most successful, since it is full of dynamics and conveys well the essence of the game. Next, it was necessary to paint the logo in the company colors of the Kanobu project: red, blue, orange. Quite unexpectedly, we saw the association of colors with three elements: earth, fire, water.



We added details and made the mark more graphic. It turned out just fine!



What is missing from this sign to become a full-fledged logo? Of course, corporate font writing! We came up with two different concepts.



After a long pang of choice, we decided to stop at a neutral minced font. Decorative handwritten font is also very cool, but it is too “pulls the blanket over itself” and distracts from the sign.
