The main theme of the next (36th) issue of the newspaper “F5” will be Augmented Reality - one of the most fascinating technologies that allows for a different look at the world around us. To demonstrate its capabilities, the newspaper F5 was the first among Russian print media to introduce augmented reality technology into its cover.
“Actually, the F5 covers do not need explanations - they speak for themselves,” says Yury Katsman, F5 editor-in-chief. “But now is a special case. Strictly speaking, what the reader of this issue will see is only part of the cover; the other, complementary part of it will become real only if you make simple manipulations with this cover. All you need is a computer with a webcam connected to the Internet (for those who do not have a computer, webcam and Internet, please forgive us in advance). This cover with Augmented Reality built into it was made for us by crazy people from the RedMadRobot company (redmadrobot.com) in just four days! One can only guess what they would think up if we would give them the opportunity to work a little longer. ”
No. 36 of the F5 newspaper will be published on November 16, 2009.
