Google search engine now understands Open Office documents

In addition to HTML, the Google search engine indexes many other file types, such as PDF or Microsoft Office. Google offers the option of viewing the file as HTML if you do not have a program that allows you to open it.

Google has added the OpenDocument format to the list of supported documents. OpenDocument is supported by both desktop office suites like OpenOffice.org, Star Office and KOffice, as well as Google Docs & Spreadsheets. OpenDocument can be used to store various kinds of files, including documents (.odt), tables (.ods), and presentations (.odp).
