Is it possible to influence the pricing policy of Windows Azure?

As announced , the fee for using Windows Azure is expected to be calculated per machine time (machine hours). Amazon EC2 is currently working on this scheme. As soon as you deployed your application, the counter is turned on, the readings of which are not affected by how much your application loads the server. For a month of work, in any case, you will have to pay about $ 90 + payment for traffic and data storage.

Now compare this to the Google AppEngine pricing policy: a fee is charged for CPU time . The less your application loads the server, the less you will have to pay.

Not many services require more than 20% of the processor time (especially at night). Many of my sites, for example, do not spend 5-10% of CPU time (and even less at night).

It turns out that for most services, Windows Azure pricing policy will be ten times more unprofitable than Google AppEngine pricing policy . For me, for example, the content of sites on the Windows Azure platform will cost about 20-50 times more expensive than on the Google AppEngine platform.

I agree that the price for the Windows platform should be higher. But not 20-50 times ...

My suggestion: try to influence the pricing policy of Windows Azure. Although there is little hope, I think there are chances. From myself, I wrote a letter to Microsoft support with a proposal to change the pricing policy (consider CPU time). I propose to support my initiative.
