Skype agreed with Joltid

Josh Silverman wrote in a Skype blog post about an agreement reached with Joltid (owned by Skype founders Nicklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis) regarding the rights to use the technology underlying Skype. This is very good news for the company, as this agreement removes the threat to the very existence of Skype and returns its founders to participate in its development.

• Now Skype will own the rights to the technology, which the company previously only licensed from Joltid
• All lawsuits against eBay, Skype and investors respond
• Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis will join investors buying Skype from eBay with a 14% share and on the board of directors
