I think it is necessary to respect the right of the authors of something to independently deal with their offspring. If the service does not meet the stated requirements, and moreover, requires constant investment in the fight against cheating, the creators of the right to close it.
And I would like to sympathize with the people who have raised all this hysteria and PR on it, because you are deprived of such a convenient and familiar way to get free popularity. So stop panic and go about your business - just write good posts.
