A small addition to my post about
Ubuntu Moblin Remix .
It turned out that the Wi-Fi driver for my controller is not present in the original Ubuntu 9.10, so Moblin has absolutely nothing to do with it, this is a bug of Ubuntu itself. However, this does not justify everything else (BT, LAN, GPRS), which works great at 9.10 and 9.10 UNR.
The problem appeared as early as 9.10 alpha 2, but was never fixed.

The following controllers from Broadcom came under the distribution - BCM4306, BCM4311, BCM4312, BCM4318.
A partial list of netbooks in which they are used:
- HP Mini 1010NR
- HP Mini 1030NR
- HP Mini 1116NR
- Lenovo S10
- Lenovo S10-2
- Dell mini 9
- Dell mini 10
Solutions to the problem:
1. Use ndiswrapper.
2. Install the bcmwl-kernel-source package (available on disk).
