While a competitor catches bugs in a new release, releasing a beta version, PhaseOne officially announced a new version of its RAW converter CaptureOne, the leading professional brain in processing digital negatives. The new
CaptureOne Pro 5 did not keep itself waiting for quite a long time - the developer has recently become frequent, moving to a new level every year, which is true, because the park of devices is updated every year, the number of megapixels is growing, competitors are pressing, threatening to cut off a piece of cake. Regular updates do not count - they are released simply to support new cameras, but the transition to a qualitative level is carried out with the change of the first digit of the program index.

In the new version of the program, the interface has been improved, which the developer, in his opinion, made more intuitive - this, incidentally, is also a convention, because someone is more familiar with folders, and someone has a design model Lightroom. In the new version there will be other options:
')
- quick preview of the DFG zone, the ability to use the focus mask to reject fuzzy images automatically
- the ability to align skin imperfections and edit tones using the skin tone enhancer function
- adding vignetting for styling (after cropping)
- the possibility of applying curves and levels per channel
- reading and editing IPTC data
- ability to work with JPEG files
Apparently, the office pumped up its color editor, adding retouching capabilities to it, however, only with reference to the skin of the face - the function was already at its best, so there will be no criticism here. And if there was no urgent need for vignetting, there was no possibility of full-fledged work with the curves - today there are only converters in Nikon Capture NX2, so it’s necessary to draw on competitors, especially since the problem is really urgent, because curves, we always mean that they are four times more than one standard for almost all converters. The program was pulled up to Lightroom, now allowing users to edit JPEG. The price of the program remained old, $ 400 (€ 300) at PhaseOne store or through dealer sales centers. The transition from the old, however, will cost less than $ 100 (€ 70).
