AT & T UNIX PC

In the mid-1980s, AT & T began selling desktop systems based on UNIX. The system was designed primarily for Convergenent (for Convergent mainframes) and is based on the Motorola 68010 processor.




The operating system for UNIX PC is a version of System V UNIX that has some similarity with Convergent CTIX. Unlike mainframes, UNIX PC had a monochrome graphic monitor and mouse, for use in a window system, it also included a disk drive for exchanging data with other computers, which, among others. had the ability to write / read diskettes in DOS format as well as in its own format, and modem, thanks to which it was multiplayer.
The original system had the name PC7300, possessed 512 Kb of RAM, NZHMD 10 Mb.
This system appeared in early 1985, the cost was 10Mb version - $ 5590, 20Mb - $ 6590. Additional 512Kb memory - $ 1195 (recently seen on ebay for $ 700 =)).
