Recently I have become an ardent fan of plastic cards. It is very convenient - you always have with you a sufficient amount of money, although the wallet does not break from paper bills. I used to pay with a card, both in shops, and in restaurants and cafes.
At the
UsereXperience 2009 conference, I was at a speech by Marat Abasaliev from
Payonlinesystem , in which he spoke about a very simple but effective way to protect himself from scammers.
Consider the situation when you pay with a card in a cafe or restaurant. You brought the account, you put the card, and then you are asked to sign. But, an unscrupulous waiter on the way to the checkout, for example, can take a picture, remember or write down the card number, full name and CVC code. And then, you will receive a bill for 100 or several thousand dollars for services and goods that you did not buy. This will be followed by debriefing with the bank, which may take months.
Want to avoid this situation? Stupidly, seal the CVC code, tape or sticker, and this one that can not be pasted a second time. All card data is absolutely useless without a CVC code! And if they bring you a card with a discarded CVC code, you can safely raise the scandal and block the card.

Have you already stuck your CVC code?
