Tilera announces 100-core server processors

Tilera has announced a family of proprietary server processors. The peculiarity of these CPUs is that the family will include four models equipped with 16, 32, 64 and 100 cores.

TILE-Gx are manufactured using 40nm technology, have a frequency of 1.5 GHz and a lower power consumption ratio: from 5 W for the 16-core version, to 55 W for the driver.

Approximate price of the novelty is from 400 to 1000 dollars per piece (for bulk orders). Deliveries of the 16-core model will begin in spring 2010. The TILE-Gx 100-core server processor will hit the market in 2011.
