In September, the company Asus announced the
imminent entry into the market of e-reader with two displays. It would be strange if such a good initiative was not supported by other manufacturers. Among the companies closest to the start of sales is
enTourage , which is already accepting orders for its dual-screen
eDGe reader, whose sales will start in February.

The reader is equipped with two displays. One of them is an e-ink with a size of 9.7 inches and a resolution of 1200x825 pixels, the second is a color touchscreen LCD with a size of 10.1 inches and a resolution of 1024x600. The presence of two different screens will allow you to use the device both as a reader and as something like a defective laptop with access to the charms of viewing photos, using a virtual keyboard, a web browser and other equally useful functions.

For user nudzh provides 4 GB of memory. The Wi-Fi module is responsible for the connection; it is possible to connect a 3G modem (optional). SD cards are supported, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack. The list of supported formats looks somewhat strange: only ePub and PDF. The device is running Linux and Google Android (yes, the specifications clearly indicate: Linux with Google® Android®).
EDGe will be available in February 2010. The cost of the device is $ 490, which is much higher than the Asus price of its dual-display reader (100 pounds). However, at the beginning of next year the market for electronic readers is not too troublesome. It will be interesting to see if dual-display harvesters can withstand competition with already traditional, starting to get cheaper (hopefully) readers.
