By early next year, GLONASS will cover the whole of Russia
By the beginning of 2008, the GLONASS satellite navigation system will completely cover the entire territory of Russia. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov.
According to him, “by 2008, 18 GLONASS spacecraft will operate in orbit, and by 2010, 24, and then it becomes a truly global system.”
Sergey Ivanov also clarified that “10 percent is the military segment of GLONASS”. ')
