Kaspersky proposes to disconnect countries from the Internet
Well-known security expert Yevgeny Kaspersky does not leave the idea of strictly restricting access to the Internet. In his opinion, it is possible to allow connection to the Network only after receiving a special passport and passing an exam, by analogy with a driver's license. Observance of legality on the web should be monitored by a special Internet police (Internet Interpol).
The rules for using the Network should be introduced at the international level, and if some countries refuse to accept them, they should be disconnected from the Internet.
Evgeny Valentinovich has been consistently promoting this idea for already ten years (except that he seems to haven’t yet spoken about turning off "disobedient" countries), but now his statements have attracted the attention of the Western press. The laureate of the State Prize of Russia in the field of science and technology and a graduate of the KGB school expressed his point of view in an interview with the ZDNet Asia publication during a visit to the Interpol conference in Singapore.
