The Big Three mobile operators - Russian companies Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (MBT), VimpelCom OJSC (VIP) and Megafon OJSC - received licenses for the provision of 3G services, 3G. This information was reported on Friday by the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications of the Russian Federation.
According to the results of the competition, Megafon took the first place in terms of the number of points, MTS took the second place, and VimpelCom took the third place. The license for the provision of cellular services covering the entire territory of Russia was granted only to Megafon. The MTS license does not apply to Penza, and the VimpelCom license does not apply to the Far East.
The competition was also attended by the New Telephone Company, Chelyabinsk Cellular Communications, the cellular operator of the Kaliningrad region, Svyazinform and Aurora-Telecom. ')
