GIMP 2.8 fits into one window

There has long been a debate on the support of a single “single-window” mode in GIMP. At the beginning of the year, the developers promised to think on this topic and to implement “single-window mode” in the wound version 2.10.

But in October, a post appeared in the Martina Nordholtsa blog post that support for single-window mode is going well and it is likely that version 2.8 will already support one windowed mode.

This mode will be a new additional feature in Gimp. The main mode will remain “multi-window”.
