The official site of
Ubuntu , due to the release of the highly anticipated new version of the Ubuntu 7.04 distribution,
did not withstand the huge influx of visitors and became unavailable on April 19 at 14 o'clock.
Apparently, the Ubuntu site administrators underestimated the demand of users for the new version of their OS. The traffic has increased just by the onset of the day in the United States of America, when everyone was trying to download a new distribution.
You can look at the downtime of the Ubuntu site on
the Pingdom statistics page (using Central
European time, that is, you will need to subtract 2 hours from Moscow time).
Then the Ubuntu site refused to use CMS Drupal, replacing dynamic pages with static HTML. On the download page distributions also added links to mirrors.

Now the Ubuntu site is running Drupal again.
