JVM on OpenCL

I read the OpenCL review here, I found mention of a lot of wrappers, including for Java.

But even before reading the topic, at the sight of the title, the thought appeared: “And if everything is so good, then why not make a Java Virtual Machine written for OpenCL! This, for sure, would allow to execute byte-code faster on certain configurations ”.

I found only one project, and that one in embryo, the author of which apparently thought the same thing as me.

Do you think the idea is justified, does it make sense and why are there no movements in this area?
