From the short introduction, we learned some facts (see above), as well as that Chris Messina lives in San Francisco and has his own company.
In the first part, Chris spoke about the shortcomings of the current social networks and about why such companies are turning off their activities.
All social networks advertise themselves by placing the logo on our personal page and only then our avatar, name, etc. goes. We cannot choose the type of presentation of our personal page (note, although there are examples of social networks where emphasis is placed on this), the ribbon of friends. There is no convenient way to export our data. Data is the greatest value. And cases when their resource (data) "loses" - a blatant violation of all norms. The future of the web is the “you-centric” format.
The second part was built according to the following plan:
1. Me at the center
2. Smarter user agents & filters
3. Faceted identity
4. Data is capital
Unfortunately, this is not all that was told by Chris. But anyone interested in it will be able to find more detailed information.
After the lecture there was a time to answer questions from the audience, but I could not stay. Who was able to enlighten us in the comments that discussed.
