When I tried different browsers, I noticed that some of them spend a lot of space on toolbars. I decided to measure ...
1st place - Google ChromePage - 707 pixels, Toolbars - 63 pixels
2 place - SafariPage - 684 pixels, Toolbars - 86 pixels
With tabsPage - 664 pixels, Toolbars - 106 pixels
3rd place - OperaPage - 635 pixels, Toolbars - 135 pixels
4th place - FirefoxPage - 608 pixels, Toolbars - 162 pixels
5th place - Internet ExplorerPage - 599 pixels, Toolbars - 171 pixels.
')
Tl; dr version from
Budd :

In IE8, toolbars take up 2.5 times more space than Chrome.
Edit: I know that you can reduce the size, remove panels, etc. I used “vanilla” versions of browsers.
Edit 2: Comrade
homm fixed the error: IE is not 602, but 599 pixels.
Edit 3: Added tabs for Safari.
