TransferJet: tactile mega-Wi-Fi in action

At CEATEC, Toshiba has demonstrated a new wireless data transfer technology called TransferJet . I will note that TransferJet is engaged not only in Toshiba, but the technology was developed by Sony, but the current demonstration of the products only happened to them.

TransferJet technology is far superior in speed to Wi-Fi (current 375 Mbps, maximum 560), but can only be used in a specific way. Given the current position, the effective data transmission distance is only 3 cm. Hence the “transfer method”: to touch one device to another. In English, the whole thing is simply fabulous: touch-activated interface. Of course, for the organization of a wireless network, TransferJet is never suitable, but as a data transfer technology in a domestic environment and from user to user, it is very even.

As for the Toshiba demonstration, the data transfer was carried out between the smartphone TG01 and the Qosmio laptop. That is, the company successfully demonstrated not only the work of the technology itself, which had been talked about since the filing of Sony two years ago, but also the work of devices with integrated TransferJet modules.

The thing is a bad thing, technology is a landmark and fashionable, but there is still one drawback. Demonstrations, demonstrations, but the sale of the device with the TransferJet will not appear soon. So far, downloading a movie from a flash drive to a TV in “one touch” is a matter of the next few years. And there is no doubt that the technology and its products will go to the masses, since there are a couple of dozen of the largest companies behind TransferJet. Among them are Canon, Casio, Eastman Kodak, Hitachi Ltd, JVC-Kenwood Holdings, KDDI, NEC, Nikon, NTT docomo, Olympus, Panasonic, Pioneer, Samsung, Seiko Epson, Sharp, SoftBank Mobile, Sony, Sony Ericsson and Toshiba.
