Palm opens doors for open source applications

Palm is preparing to launch a webOS developer program. Developers will be able to independently distribute their applications through the web. Applications will be sent to the review only if the developer wants to place them in the App Catalog.

It will be possible to build applications based on HTML, CSS and Javascript. Specialized Javascript API and support for some HTML 5 features will be provided.

The cost of participation in the program remains 99 dollars a year.
