Fujitsu's future mobile phone concepts

Two Japanese companies Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Design Limited announced yesterday the winners of the Fujitsu Mobile Phone Design competition 2009. This design competition for the collection of creative and innovative ideas from the people, it was announced in May of this year. The competition itself was positioned as one of the ways to develop and improve the design of modern mobile phones Fujitsu.

Most interestingly, out of the 2,000 concept designs of mobile phones of the future, the winning models were not the most luxurious or the most futuristic. On the contrary, the Grand Prix was awarded to the model that demonstrated the most intuitive interface for users. In this Fujitsu has demonstrated its original approach.

The winners - 24 models: one Grand Prix, two second places (each in different categories), six separate awards of judges (according to the number of judges) and 15 incentive prizes.



Who are the judges?



The panel of judges included: designer Toshiyuki Kita, art director Manabu Mizuno, chief editor of Nikkei Design magazine Kazuya Shimokawa and chairman of the Japanese Designers Association, art director Katsumi Asaba (Katsumi Asaba).



The Grand Prix

Jin-Gwon Go, a South Korean college student studying design, won about $ 20,000 equivalent for his mobile phone concept called Gesture. Of all the finalists, the Go project was probably the only one that had the form of a mobile phone that everyone expected. Fujitsu said its project stood out due to gesture-based commands, and touch-sensitive icons that allow you to control the phone with one hand only.

Description: The concept is a mobile phone with a tubular design that displays the minimum amount of information through simple operations. Its main feature is that it can, if necessary, project both a virtual screen and a keyboard.

Description: These are several mobile phones that can be connected into one whole, or used as independent holistic models. This concept allows one phone to share part of its charge with another, or, for example, combine several screens into one large one.
