Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0.0.0 first impressions
Congratulations to all users of the Mozilla Thunderbird email client with the advent of the second version. For those who have not yet decided on the transition from version 1.5, I describe the first impressions.
Installation on Windows was without any problems, all mailboxes and address books were successfully picked up from the previous version.
The bird now takes off faster - it takes no more than two or three seconds to load. The new theme looks somewhat unusual, but quite harmonious. We were pleased with the new notifications about the arrival of letters - now the window is bigger and the list of recipients, the title and the beginning of the message fit inside.
The ability to move back and forth is not very useful, but if I have to rummage through several letters located in different boxes and written at an arbitrary time, I think I will go back and forth instead of opening a pile of windows.
From pleasant remarked that he now quietly opens investments in attachments. That is, you can open .eml from an already open .eml. Version 1.5 for some reason, such investments simply did not open. Now I digress from writing a letter - it was automatically saved in the “drafts” folder, with the editing window remaining. Trifle, but nice. I was pleased with the search for messages in the style of Fire Fox, but still I hope Mozilla will not combine the two products into one.
Now I'm waiting for Fire Fox 3.0 and Mozilla Desktop.
