Another modification of the product, which still bears the name "book", is preparing to conquer the market.
The American company Vook has begun to actively market a new multimedia hybrid, vook (video + book), which has not yet received a name in the Russian language: it is called either a “video book” or a “book”, or simply vook. When using this product while reading the text, it will be possible to watch the videos accompanying it. In addition, the new format, integrated with social networks, will allow the reader to communicate with the author and other readers.
The publishing company Simon & Schuster has already launched sales of four video books within the framework of a research on the demand for a novelty in collaboration with Vook. Among them are two pieces of art: the melodrama Jude Devereaux and the detective Richard Deutsch, which are only produced as video books, as well as a fitness guide and a collection of tips from a beautician, which also exist in the form of traditional print publications. Each book is equipped with about a dozen video clips that last from one to two minutes.
