Mini photo report on KyivBSD '09 or on FreeBSD say a word
Today I was lucky to be a member of KyivBSD '09 , and it happened almost by accident, but that is, a couple of months, I somehow went to the conference site while surfing, and since I had to put another server at work in the near future (for distribution of internet and other goodies) I decided to register in reserve at the conference. And this day came and I, as a resident of the Left Bank of our capital, was very happy (by going to the event site in the morning to find out the venue), that it would take place on the bank of the Dnieper and also from my left side, by the way A very detailed map is visible to guests from other cities, possibly even countries, for the event had international status. Then I’ll go over those performances that I remember, and which I heard, it wasn’t possible to be there until the end for reasons beyond my control, although I really wanted to.
It all started a little late, ( apparently not everyone was able to figure out such a detailed map ) from the report, FreeBSD as a desktop-oriented system, using the example of PC-BSD of a rather young but sensible guy, as a result of the conversations I realized involved in organizing this event. The report is interesting, but it focuses more on freeBSD newbies.
he was followed by a report on the work of re @ and the release preparation cycle ofKonstantin Belousov , which remotely visually reminded me of umputun, widely known in certain circles. And the report turned out to be very high quality and entertaining.
then it was the turn of MPD / Netgraph many schemes, many wow effects, many questions many answers.
then there was a coffee break, with free folders and canapes, where you could communicate more closely with the most interesting speakers (on the center, the very first Konstantin Belousov, who seemed to me as a headpiece) Next was the paired report of Oleksandr Dracha (a kind of Master Lefty from the backwoods, but in general an intelligent guy) The first was about the use of FreeBSD in local governments of Ukraine on the example of Cherkasy city council The second part narrated about the introduction of jabber in the same structure, as a communication system This was followed by a master class in the style of "crazy hands" with a live demonstration and all that from Nikolai Marzhan about how to properly prepare FreeBSD distributions and the liveCD recipe of this Devil Black Magik Show? caused stormy iteres in the hall, + the author promised to share the scripts with anyone
