The answer is not unequivocal, but the conclusion suggests itself that Selenium does not justify the hopes placed on it. Fortunately, you can put the same hope that a new version will soon appear, which will please us. That is what is
promised on the official blog.
The developers of Selenium claim that this tool can run tests in all browsers.
And this is true, they really succeed in launching them, but they are executed perfectly only in FF.
Now I have a set of tests, which is done with a bang in FF for 16 minutes. The remaining browsers give out their tricks.
')
The critical issues are:
- Initially, Opera simply gave out its tricks, which could still be bypassed, and in the course of complicating the tests, it began to issue a security error message that is not fixed by any settings.
- IE is so slow that in practice these tests do not justify themselves
- Google Chrome could not start at all
The fact that the selenium tests test the application and do it well is true.
But the question is: do selenium tests really test applications well
in all browsers ?
In general,
any thoughts on this are interesting .
I am especially interested in hearing the opinions of those who use and test
extjs .
