Startup Weekend is now in Moscow

Over the past year, the quality of events dedicated to work with start-ups has dramatically increased: these are both barcamps (for example, both aikempas), and thematic meetings (for example, Startup Point ), and Russian versions of international conferences such as TED.

A new event is expected at the weekend, which will be interesting for start-ups: Startup Weekend , which is held both in Silicon Valley and in cities such as Boston, New York, San Diego. Now it will be held in Moscow.

For 54 hours to go from idea to product on the market? Experience has shown that it is real. Since 2007, when the first Startup Weekend took place in Silicon Valley, the essence of the event does not change: fewer conversations - more work.

Purpose of

The first Russian Startup Weekend will be held in Moscow from the 2nd to the 4th of October. According to the Russian organizers, in our country, events of such a format are particularly needed. On the one hand, this is also a vivid alternative to long-term development and the development of entrepreneurial activity among young people. On the other - an excellent incentive for the emergence of bright, innovative companies. Another important point is the integration of Russian startups in the international movement, increasing the ambitiousness of projects, focusing on the global world market.

How does Startup Weekend go?

In the big hall there are going to be 100-150 diversified specialists and entrepreneurs: marketers, vendors, developers, designers, project managers. They choose the most interesting business ideas and team up to put them into action. Regardless of whether they managed to do it in two days or not, they get invaluable experience and insight into working in a startup.

At Startup Weekend, you can find like-minded people to build a business, as well as get acquainted with experts, investors, and possibly attract them as your advisors.
The main task is in a short time to show participants the principles of work in a startup, its formation and effective management, as well as help future startups to find partners for themselves.

The organizers

This initiative was proposed by Alexey Karlov (organized by TEDx, iCamp / StartCamp'09), so for all organizational issues it is better to contact him: karlov2004 (at) gmail.com. The event itself is supported by the HSE Business Incubator and will be held at its base.
